Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is anticipated to be the busiest shopping day in 2015 both in terms of shopper numbers and total sales, according to analytics company ShopperTrak.

The company said that despite taking place to “Super Saturday” for sales in 2014, it will be propelled to the top spot this year for a variety of reasons including price-conscious shoppers motivated by sales and an early Hanukkah, which will generate sales in November rather than in December.

This year, there are a number of retailers that are choosing to remain closed on Thanksgiving, and we expect this will complement current trends and return Black Friday to the top spot for both sales and shopper visits,” said Kevin Kearns, ShopperTrak chief revenue officer.

According to ShopperTrak the greatest number of shopper visits are expected to take place on:

November 27 – Black Friday

December 19 – Super Saturday

December 26 – Day after Christmas

December 12 – Second Saturday before Christmas

November 28 – Saturday after Thanksgiving

December 20 – Sunday before Christmas

December 5 – Saturday after Cyber Monday / First Saturday in December

December 21 – Monday before Christmas

December 13 – Second Sunday before Christmas

November 29 – Sunday after Black Friday

The greatest number of sales dollars are expected to be generated on:

November 27 – Black Friday

December 19 – Super Saturday

December 12 – Second Saturday before Christmas

November 28 – Saturday after Thanksgiving

December 5 – Saturday after Cyber Monday / First Saturday in December

December 20 – Sunday before Christmas

December 13 – Second Sunday before Christmas

December 21 – Monday before Christmas

November 21 – Saturday before Thanksgiving

December 26 – Day after Christmas

ShopperTrak is estimating a 2.4-percent increase for the 2015 holiday season.
