In the diamond industry, certain developments are neither immediate nor self-evident. They unfold over time, take shape through successive adjustments, and reflect deeper transformations within the professions.
The place of women in the industry today
Women hold a significant place within the diamond industry. Today, they account for 57% of the sector’s workforce (UFBJOP, 2024).
This is a strong reality, though one that is not reflected uniformly across all professions.
At Rubel & Ménasché, women represent 66% of the teams—an equilibrium rooted in sustained attention to career paths and the long-term development of talent.
This dynamic is also reflected in the company’s professional equality index, with a score of 92/100 in 2025, demonstrating a commitment that extends beyond the company itself to the industry as a whole.
A transformation driven alongside our partners
A significant part of the industry’s evolution takes place upstream, within cutting and polishing facilities—where new dynamics are also emerging.
Within our partners’ factories, the presence of women is increasing, driven by deliberate initiatives and strategic choices. In some, women now account for nearly one-third of the workforce, while others have reached more advanced levels of balance.
Beyond representation, it is the nature of roles that is evolving. Women are increasingly accessing positions of expertise, supervision, and knowledge transmission, contributing fully to the quality and continuity of operations.
These developments are supported by initiatives implemented by our partners: the expansion of technical training, career support, gradual access to positions of responsibility, and the adaptation of working conditions to facilitate both access to and retention in employment.
Within this dynamic, Rubel & Ménasché works alongside its partners with the intention of encouraging these developments, supporting them over time, and contributing, at its level, to improving balance across the industry.

Opening new pathways
This commitment extends beyond manufacturing, with a focus on supporting women’s career paths at different stages of the value chain.
Through the R&M Women Entrepreneurs Program, Rubel & Ménasché supports women developing projects related to the jewelry professions by providing a structured framework for guidance.
Today, four entrepreneurs are supported by the House and continue their journey within the program, each bringing a distinct vision.
This work is built over time. It takes the form of regular exchanges with teams, connections within the ecosystem, and support in structuring and developing their projects, in line with their evolving needs.
Beyond the program itself, the ambition is to help new voices emerge within the industry, encourage entrepreneurial pathways, and contribute to the transmission of know-how in renewed forms.

A dynamic in progress
The place of women in the industry is evolving—still unevenly, yet undeniably—driven by transformations that cut across professions and organizations.
It is being shaped through individual career paths, through opportunities created, skills developed, and know-how transmitted.
At Rubel & Ménasché, this focus informs the way the company works both with its teams and with its partners. The objective is clear: to enable each individual to find their place, to progress, and to build a lasting future within these professions.
